Steelforme®
While Stainless Steel Steelforme® items are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing to extend the life of the product. Items with wood components should be hand washed and are not dishwasher safe.
First Use
- Before the first use, wash in hot water using mild detergent
- Rinse and dry before storing
Washing
- Wash immediately after use to avoid staining or corrosion
- Mild detergent and hot water are recommended;use a soft, wet cloth to remove debris and food remnants
- Hand wash wood components using a soft, wet cloth in a motion parallel to wood grain
- Do not use detergents with acidic additives such as orange, lemon, chloride-based cleaners, hydrochloric acid, or hydrogen peroxide
- Do not use hard water or abrasive materials such as steel wool, metal scrapers, scouring pads on items, as they may damage finish
- Hand wash wood and galvanized zinc components
Drying
- Dry immediately after washing to avoid water spots; ; use a soft cloth with a single wipe, parallel to grain direction
- Avoid storing items in high humidity areas
Best Practices
- Avoid contact with chlorides such as salt, eggs, and mustard
- Do not leave items soaking for long periods of time
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaning methods, and avoid metal-to-metal contact
- Remove minor rust spots and blemishes by polishing items with a soft cloth doused in vinegar
